A great deal on a set of 3 Oregon Gator mulching blades for the Frontier Model GM3072 and GM1072R 72 rear mounted, rear discharge finish mower. These blades are excellent replacements for the original blades Frontier / John Deere part number 5WP1008199KT. We guarantee these blades to fit the Model GM3072 and GM1072R but please do not confuse these models with the GM1072E, GM1072S, GM2072 or other similar model. Here are several reasons why I think this Gator Blade is the best blade for your mower. 1 Gator blades are designed to recirculate the grass clipping into the cutting path resulting in finer clippings for quicker decomposition.

This decomposition adds nutrients back into the soil quicker and is less likely to develop diseases that thicker clippings may develop. 2 Unlike a mulching kit, gator blades still discharge grass clippings. With a mulching kit it is recommended that the operator only cut off a 1/3 of the grass at a time. Crowding the mulching kit can leave clumps of grass lay behind because the mulching kit cannot handle a large amount of material. Since the Gator blade disperses clippings, it had handle thicker and heavier grass.

3 This Gator blade is wider than the original resulting in a stronger, longer lasting blade. 4 This Gator blade has a longer cutting edge than the standard blades.

This also aids in finer clippings and superior cut. 5 The cutting edge of the Gator blade has a hard surfaced treatment Oregon refers to as Fusion.
